MASSPRODUCTIONS 17 June 2009
The brand new Swedish design company MASSPRODUCTIONS is now represented by Myran in Greece. The two experienced designers Chris Martin and Magnus Eleback launch Massproductions first collection during the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2009. Massproductions develop high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit. Englishman Chris Martin and Swede Magnus Eleback met ten years ago and have since worked side by side as consultants for the furniture industry. With their accumulated knowledge from these years, they are now taking the next step by producing and marketing their own collection of furniture using a new and simple method for developing products. By taking away the filters normally associated with a producer they can make products that would otherwise get stuck somewhere in the development process.
Chris Martin, who used to be Jasper Morrison’s right hand man, has designed Massproductions first furniture collection, “Tio”. The collection consists of chairs and tables in steel wire which are produced in a computer controlled bending machine. With just a few steel wires, Chris Martin has designed furniture which catches the eye and attracts the design conscious customer.

New collaboration 22 March 2009
Myran is proud to announce the new collaboration with legendary Danish manufacturer Georg Jensen. Of course we brought the Henning Koppel clocks and weatherstations, as well as his beautiful New York cutlery alongside with Jean Nouvel's cutlery from 2004. But of course the real deal is the super minimal Arne Jacobsen cutlery, originally designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1967. It sits well in the hand and allows free, unforced movements. It is easy to see why this was called “the cutlery with no frills”, and even in the new millennium its appearance is strikingly modern and innovative.

News from the Stockholm Furniture Fair 19 March 2008
Myran's annual report from the Stockholm Furniture Fair has been somewhat delayed this year, but we can finally present the report of some of the highlights here. Just follow this link.
We are of course proud to announce that Swedese, who won the best product award at 100% Design London the last two years, won the best product award for the simple yet versatile shelving system LIBRI by Michael Bihain. But also our other partners was awarded to the extent that talking about a Grand Slam seems like an understatement. And that's being modest. For example was Asplund's table Bermuda designed by Thomas Ericsson, awarded Furniture of the year by Swedish Elle Deco, who also awarded the Cord Lamp by Form Us With Love as Lamp of the year and the Black Chair Collection by Fredrik Mattson for Bla Station as Chair of the year. The table La Chapelle by Inga Sempe for David Design was awarded Furniture of the Year by leading Swedish interior magazine Skona Hem.
